## Synopsis

Mad Dog (2017) is a South Korean crime drama series created by Hwang Eui-kyung and Kim Soo-jin for KBS2. Choi Kang-Woo (Yoo Ji-tae), a former detective who now works as a veteran insurance investigator, leads a small team that sets out to expose insurance fraud. Alongside him, Kim Min-Joon (Woo Do-hwan) and Jang Ha-Ri (Ryu Hwa-young) bring their own skills and pressures to each case, while Park Soon-Jung (Jo Jae-yun) and On Noo-Ri (Kim Hye-seong) round out the investigative unit. The series runs for one season of sixteen hour-long episodes, built around self-contained fraud cases that gradually reveal a larger web of deceit. Its engine is the tension between the team's slow, methodical digging and the cunning of the people trying to hide behind legitimate claims. The tone is gritty and measured, with a wary, rain-tinged mood of professional rivalry and personal grudges. Set in contemporary South Korea, it moves through the offices, interrogation rooms, and streets where insurance disputes become criminal cases. Viewers who enjoy the procedural rigor of Signal and the case-driven investigations of Unforgettable will find familiar pleasures here, though the series leans more toward ensemble grit than sharp genre flourish.
