## Synopsis

BLEND-S (2017) is a Japanese seinen slice of life anime comedy produced by A-1 Pictures and Aniplex and broadcast on TOKYO MX. Its single season runs twelve episodes of about twenty-five minutes each. High school girl Maika Sakuranomiya (voiced by Azumi Waki) cannot find part-time work because her smile looks frightening, until Dino, the manager of the cafe Stile, recruits her. There the waitresses perform assigned personas such as tsundere and younger sister, and Maika is given a sadistic, dominant persona that she must maintain for customers, particularly masochistic regulars. Kaho Hinata (voiced by Akari Kito) and Mafuyu Hoshikawa (voiced by Anzu Haruno) join her among the staff, and the episodes are built from short, self-contained shifts of cafe service. The tone is breezy and mischievous, with awkward deadpan reactions and bright cafe warmth set against risque situational humor. Fans of Non Non Biyori and Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun will find similar pleasures in its everyday workplace comedy.
