## Synopsis

Witch's Court (2017) is a South Korean legal drama series created for KBS2, a single-season run of sixteen one-hour episodes in the k-drama tradition. Prosecutor Ma Yi-Deum (Jung Ryeo-won), seven years into a career where she often resorts to drastic methods to win cases, is transferred to a special division that handles only sex crimes. Her colleagues include Yeo Jin-Wook (Yoon Hyun-min), Jo Gab-Soo (Jun Kwang-ryul) and Heo Yoon-Kyung (Kim Min-seo), and the supporting cast includes Kim Yeo-jin and Lee Il-hwa. The engine of the show is Ma's pursuit of convictions against offenders who often hide behind influence and manipulated evidence, while each episode builds a case from investigation to courtroom confrontation. Its structure is largely case driven, with individual cases feeding a broader arc about institutional resistance. The tone is intense and morally charged, with a tense, sober atmosphere around harrowing subject matter handled with restraint. Fans of Suits, Stranger and The Good Wife will find resonance in its courtroom rivalries and principled, unconventional protagonist.
