## Synopsis

UQ Holder! (2017) is a Japanese anime series, a single 12-episode season of 24-minute episodes that aired on TOKYO MX and is adapted from a manga. It is set in a rural Japanese town where magic has become public knowledge after a decade of upheaval. Tota Konohe (voiced by Yuka Takakura) lives a deliberately quiet life far from the changes reshaping the world, anchored by his magic-using female teacher and a circle of supportive friends, including Kirie Sakurame (Ai Kayano) and Karin Yuuki (Yui Ogura). The engine of the show is the tension between an ordinary school routine and the magical world pressing toward it, so everyday classroom days and small-town friendships keep colliding with powers and ambitions beyond the hills. Each episode blends comedic character banter with bursts of shonen action and supernatural spectacle, giving the series a light, warm rhythm rather than a dark one. Its tone is cheerful and nostalgic, with a wistful undercurrent about whether an ordinary life can survive when magic arrives. Fans of Negima! Magister Negi Magi, Fairy Tail and To Love-Ru will find a breezy, fantasy school comedy with a sense of wider stakes and a warm, familiar cast.
