## Synopsis

Big Mouth (2017-2025) is an American adult animated comedy series created by Nick Kroll, Mark Levin, Jennifer Flackett and Andrew Goldberg for Netflix. Following a group of middle school friends whose lives are upended by the wonders and horrors of puberty, the show centers on Nick Birch, voiced by Nick Kroll, who also voices the Hormone Monster Maury, and on his best friend Andrew Glouberman, voiced by John Mulaney. Jessi Glaser (Jessi Klein) and Jay Bilzerian (Jason Mantzoukas) round out the core group, while Maya Rudolph voices Nick's mother Diane. Each episode builds around a fresh awkward milestone of adolescence, such as first crushes, sexual curiosity, body changes and social humiliation, with the hormone monsters serving as crude, funny narrators of the chaos. The series runs across eight seasons of roughly ten episodes each, with a continuing story that follows its characters through middle school. Its tone is candid, frank and irreverent, mixing gross-out humor with sincere moments of friendship and self-discovery. Fans of South Park, Bojack Horseman and Family Guy will find resonance in its brash satire and adult animation style, and viewers who enjoy sharp, boundary-pushing comedy about growing up will feel right at home.
