## Synopsis

The Pit (2017-2021) is a Turkish crime drama series created by Barbaros Bilgin and Gökhan Horzum for Show TV. Its story follows Yamaç Koçovalı (Aras Bulut İynemli), the youngest son of a mafia clan, who must return to the neighborhood he once tried to escape when the Koçovar family risks losing control of its turf. Erkan Kolçak Köstendil plays Vartolu Saadettin, a formidable family figure whose loyalties and rivalries shape the clan's fate, while Necip Memili, Perihan Savaş and Rıza Kocaoğlu round out the principal household. Across four seasons and more than a hundred episodes, the engine is simple and relentless: a family must defend its streets against rivals and rot from within, and every episode turns on a fresh betrayal, a street confrontation or a family confrontation at the kitchen table. The show is a long serialized saga with a steady accumulation of consequences. Its tone is intense, melodramatic and often brutal, with tension sitting alongside tender moments of family loyalty. Fans of Peaky Blinders, Gomorrah and The Sopranos will find resonance in its clan politics, its blood-bound loyalties and its portrait of a neighborhood where the family name is both shelter and sentence.
