## Synopsis

Savage Kingdom (2016-2020) is a British and American nature documentary series produced for Nat Geo Wild. Narrated by Charles Dance, the four-season run follows warring animal clans in a remote region of Africa, where a landscape that once thrived on years of floods is slowly drying out. The engine of each episode is scarcity: rival groups of animals must compete for water, territory and food as the land shrinks around them, and the camera stays close enough to show the cost of every confrontation. Across nineteen episodes of roughly fifty minutes, the series builds its stories around these shifting alliances and clashes, moving from season to season as the drought deepens and the pressure intensifies. The tone is intense and sober, with a dramatic, almost mythic narration that frames the animals as factions in a brutal contest. Fans of Planet Earth II, The Hunt and Life in the Undergrowth will find resonance in its wildlife storytelling, its patient natural history photography and its unflinching view of survival. The series is suited to viewers who enjoy harsh, high-stakes natural history rather than gentle animal programming.
