## Synopsis

The Ivanovs vs. The Ivanovs (2017-2025) is a Russian family comedy-drama created by Vitaly Shlyappo for STS, START and more.tv. Its premise is simple and funny: two namesake Ivanov families from the south of Russia learn that their children were confused at the maternity hospital sixteen years earlier. Anton (Sergey Burunov) and Aleksey (Mikhail Trukhin) anchor the two households, while Polina (Aleksandra Florinskaya) and Lida (Anna Ukolova) help carry the story across the divide. The engine of the show is the awkward forced intimacy of a wealthy household taking in a son raised in poverty, and the reverse, as a poor family meets a life of luxury they never imagined. Each episode is built from domestic friction, misunderstandings between generations, class-tinged clashes over money and manners, and small moments of reconciliation. The series runs across eight seasons and 144 episodes of roughly twenty-three minutes each, and it plays as one continuing story rather than standalone cases. The tone is warm, breezy and comic, with a sincere undercurrent about belonging and family loyalty. Viewers who enjoy Keeping Up Appearances and Univer will find the same mix of everyday absurdity and heart, set in contemporary Russia.
