## Synopsis

9-1-1 (2018-present) is an American network drama series created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Tim Minear for ABC and FOX. Angela Bassett leads the ensemble as Athena Grant, a Los Angeles police officer, alongside Peter Krause as Bobby Nash, Jennifer Love Hewitt as Maddie Buckley, Oliver Stark as Evan 'Buck' Buckley, and Aisha Hinds as Henrietta 'Hen' Wilson. The engine of the show is simple: every shift brings a new frantic emergency, from car crashes to building collapses, and each responder must save the vulnerable while wrestling with a personal life that keeps spilling into the job. Each episode is built around a rescue, so the format plays like a case of the week with a serialized thread of relationships running underneath. The series has run for ten seasons and is still airing, with its story moving along in the present day. Its tone is brisk, heightened and warm, mixing action spectacle with sincere emotional beats and a streak of humor. Viewers who enjoy Chicago Fire and Grey's Anatomy will find the same blend of rescue action and workplace family bonds here, set in the sprawling city of Los Angeles.
