## Synopsis

Step Up (2018-2022) is an American teen dance drama created by Holly Sorensen for STARZ and YouTube Premium. Twins Tal (Petrice Jones) and Janelle (Lauryn McClain) relocate from Ohio to Atlanta, where their new school's dance scene becomes a proving ground for their talent and ambitions. Around them, a crew of dancers including King (Eric Graise), Rigo (Terrence Green) and Poppy (Kendra Oyesanya) pushes for recognition, while rival groups and romantic entanglements raise the stakes of every performance. The engine of the series is the pursuit of a place on a stage, with each season built around rehearsals, crew rivalries and showcase numbers that carry much of the emotional storytelling. Set in contemporary Atlanta, the show runs for three seasons of ten episodes each, and its energetic, sincere tone blends youthful optimism with the pressure of competition. Its music and choreography give it a distinctly urban, hip hop flavored identity. Fans of Fame, Glee and the original Step Up films will find resonance in its mix of dance, rivalry and coming of age ambition.
