## Synopsis

After the Rain (2018) is a Japanese seinen romance anime series adapted from a manga and produced by WIT STUDIO for Fuji TV. Across a single twelve-episode season of roughly twenty-three minutes each, it follows Akira Tachibana, a former track club ace whose injury ended her athletic dream, and Masami Kondou, a divorced father who once hoped to become a writer and now manages the restaurant where Akira works. Their lives intersect over ordinary shifts, quiet conversations and the slow work of rebuilding what each has lost, so the engine is less a plot than a gradual reconsideration of who they are and what they still want. Voice performances by Sayumi Watabe as Akira and Hiroaki Hirata as Masami anchor the show, with Emi Miyajima as Haruka Kiyan and Haruka Fukuhara as Yui Nishida adding the friendships and rivalries of their wider circle. Set in contemporary Japan, the series moves at an unhurried, intimate pace, with a wistful, warm and sometimes melancholic tone that favors small gestures over melodrama. Fans of Kaguya-sama: Love Is War, Sweet Blue Flowers and Oresama Teacher will find resonance in its blend of romance, age-gapped attraction and adult self-reflection.
