## Synopsis

Wilder (2017-2022) is a Swiss German crime drama series created by Béla Batthyany and Alexander Szombath for SRF 1. Sarah Spale plays detective Rosa Wilder, who returns to her home town in the Swiss mountains to remember her brother, who died in an accident years earlier alongside several other children. When a murder shakes the town, she decides to stay and investigate, and the case pulls her back into old wounds and family history. Marcus Signer plays Manfred Kägi, one of the figures whose connections to the community complicate her search, while Andreas Matti and Ruth Schwegler appear as members of the Wilder family whose memories of the past do not quite line up. The show runs four seasons of six episodes each, as a serialized crime story in which each case grows out of the town's buried secrets. Its atmosphere is restrained and melancholic, with cold alpine light, quiet dread, and a slow accumulation of unease. Fans of Broadchurch, Twin Peaks and The Killing will find resonance in its blend of procedural detail, rural mystery, and personal grief. The tone rests on memory, guilt and the cost of returning to a place that never forgot what happened there.
