## Synopsis

Mystery Science Theater 3000 (2017-2018) is a American cult comedy series created by Joel Hodgson for Netflix. Revived after its original run, the show follows new host Jonah Heston (Jonah Ray Rodrigues), a man held captive by mad scientists who force him to watch a relentless blitz of cheesy B movies. To keep his sanity, Jonah riffs on every screening alongside his robot companions Tom Servo (Baron Vaughn) and Crow T. Robot (Hampton Yount), whose sarcastic commentary becomes the engine of each episode. Felicia Day as Kinga Forrester and Patton Oswalt as Max, the villainous pair running the experiment, provide a constant stream of scheming antagonism. The series runs across two seasons and twenty episodes, each built around a single campy feature film interrupted by the trio's jokes, sight gags and sketches. Its tone is campy, irreverent and gleefully absurd, with handmade puppet aesthetics and a deliberately low-budget charm. Set in a space-station style prison of the future, the show nods to the sci-fi tradition of its origins. Fans of Red Dwarf, Rifftrax and Community will find resonance in its offbeat humor and affectionate mockery of genre films.
