## Synopsis

America's Best Dance Crew (2008-2015) is an American competitive dance reality series created by Randy Jackson and aired on MTV, with a development history that began at NBC under the title World Moves. Hosted by Mario Lopez, the show follows dance crews from the United States and around the world as they compete week after week in routines judged by a rotating celebrity panel that has included Lil Mama, JC Chasez, Dominic D-Trix Sandoval, and former judges Shane Sparks and Omarion. Backstage correspondent Layla Kayleigh tracks the crews between performances, adding a personal layer to the competition. The engine of each episode is simple: crews must impress judges with choreography, creativity, and stage presence, while the threat of elimination keeps every round tense. Across eight seasons and roughly sixty episodes, the series moves from elimination rounds to larger showcases, with the spotlight landing on crews from very different dance traditions. The mood is upbeat, celebratory, and energetic, built around spectacle, camaraderie, and the thrill of a crew rising from underdog to contender. Fans of So You Think You Can Dance, American Idol, and World of Dance will find familiar pleasures here.
