## Synopsis

Being Human (2009-2013) is a British supernatural comedy-drama series created by Toby Whithouse for BBC Three. Set in Wales, it follows a vampire, a werewolf and a ghost-haunted house in a shared flat, where a group of undead flatmates try to turn over a new leaf. Lenora Crichlow plays Annie Sawyer, a ghost who is bound to the house, while Russell Tovey plays George Sands, a werewolf struggling with his transformations, and Aidan Turner plays the vampire John Mitchell, whose hunger and past threaten to pull him back into old habits. Their daily routines revolve around job hunting, relationships and the ordinary chores of flat life, interrupted by the supernatural cases of the ghosts who haunt the building and by the constant pressure of their monstrous natures. The series runs for five seasons and thirty-six episodes of about an hour each, mixing case-of-the-week episodes with a serialized thread of growing character drama. Its tone blends sharp, sardonic humour with wistful melancholy and moments of genuine horror, and its emotional core is the bond of a found family that wants to be human. Fans of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Ghosts and True Blood will find resonance in its mix of monsters, comedy and heartfelt relationships.
