## Synopsis

Mayans M.C. (2018-2023) is a United States FX crime drama series created by Kurt Sutter and Elgin James, a spin-off of Sons of Anarchy. Set on the California-Mexico border, it follows Ezekiel 'EZ' Reyes (J. D. Pardo), freshly released from prison and trying to earn his patch as a prospect in an outlaw motorcycle club, a town where he was once the golden boy. Edward James Olmos plays his father Felipe Reyes, a looming family figure whose ties pull EZ in competing directions, while Clayton Cardenas plays his brother Angel Reyes and Sarah Bolger plays Emily Thomas. Across five seasons of ten episodes each, the story is a serialized saga built around club politics, cartel pressure, and the constant tension between blood ties and brotherhood. EZ's engine is simple and driven: he wants a clean slate and a legitimate place, but every favor, betrayal, and turf fight drags him back into violence. The tone is gritty, tense, and emotionally heavy, with a Chicano cultural texture rooted in its border setting. Fans of Sons of Anarchy, Narcos and Ozark will find the same mix of family melodrama and criminal brutality. Set in the present of its broadcast, the series unfolds across contemporary California border towns, with motorcycle rides, bars, and desert roads defining its look.
