## Synopsis

Leif & Billy (2017-2023) is a Swedish sketch comedy series created for SVT1 and produced by MAG5 and Jarowskij. Klas Eriksson plays Leif Öhman and Alfred Svensson plays his younger brother Billy, two orphaned Nordic hillbillies whose relationship is the engine of every short. Their goal is simple: getting through daily life with pride and dignity intact, while their own loyalty to each other and their slow-witted schemes keep tripping them up. Each episode is a brisk, roughly twenty-minute run of self-contained sketches, with Happy Jankell appearing as Elin in recurring scenes and a rotating set of guest characters filling out the small-town world. Across seven seasons and fifty episodes the format stays consistent, a loose and affectionate run of absurd bits rather than one continuing plot. The tone is deadpan, awkward and warmly silly, with an undercurrent of tenderness between the brothers. Its rural Swedish setting and its parody of backwoods stereotypes give it a distinctly Nordic flavour. Fans of Flight of the Conchords, The Mighty Boosh and Brassic will find similar resonance in its odd-couple chemistry and its gently absurd take on provincial life.
