## Synopsis

Succession (2018-2023) is an American prestige drama series created by Jesse Armstrong for HBO. Brian Cox plays Logan Roy, the aging patriarch of a global media conglomerate, whose gradual retreat from control sets off a scramble among his children. Jeremy Strong plays Kendall Roy, the eldest son who wants his father's crown, while Sarah Snook plays Siobhan Shiv Roy, a political strategist, and Kieran Culkin plays the volatile Roman Roy. Matthew Macfadyen plays Tom Wambsgans, a corporate fixer who married into the family. Across four seasons and thirty-nine episodes, the engine is a relentless contest of alliances, betrayals, and humiliating boardroom and family confrontations, with each episode built from negotiations, leaks, and private power plays. The series unfolds in present-day New York City and the corridors of corporate headquarters, its look polished and claustrophobic. The tone is caustic, darkly funny, and wounding, balancing savage satire of extreme wealth with an undercurrent of genuine family pain. Its sharp dialogue and ensemble performances lead fans of The Thick of It, Veep, and Mad Men to find the same mix of cruelty, wit, and moral rot.
