## Synopsis

The Boys (2019-2026) is an American satirical superhero series created by Eric Kripke for Prime Video. Hughie Campbell (Jack Quaid), a mild shop clerk whose girlfriend is killed by a speeding superhero, joins a gang of vigilantes led by the profane, grudge-carrying Billy Butcher (Karl Urban). Their goal is to expose and take down the celebrity heroes of the Vought corporation, chiefly the smiling, dangerous Homelander (Antony Starr), who hides cruelty behind a flag-waving image. Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty as the idealistic Annie January, and Karen Fukuhara as the deadly Kimiko anchor a large ensemble. Each episode blends brutal, bloody set pieces with sharp satire of fame, money and media spin, so the tone swings between gleeful and grim. The five-season serialized arc is a continuing story where alliances shift and the corporate machine keeps tightening. Set in a contemporary American world where superheroes are real and marketed like pop stars, the show is a cynical, darkly comic and often harrowing take on power and branding. Fans of Watchmen, Invincible and Dexter will find resonance in its bold, morally bruised rage against institutional corruption.
