## Synopsis

The Beauty Inside (2012) is a American independent romantic science fiction drama miniseries created by Drake Doremus and released on YouTube and Facebook. Topher Grace plays Alex, a young man who wakes each morning inside a different person's body while remaining himself within. Mary Elizabeth Winstead plays Leah, the woman he meets and falls in love with, and the story pivots on the painful fact that he will see her again while she will never recognize him. Each of the six short episodes follows Alex through a new outward identity, so the engine of the series is his attempt to build a relationship that survives constant physical change, with every new day bringing new complications and tests of devotion. Presented as a compact run of brief chapters rather than a conventional season, it is told with a grounded, intimate camera that keeps the emphasis on conversation and feeling. The mood is wistful, tender and melancholic, with a romantic ache running beneath the speculative premise. Viewers who enjoy the quiet longing of Her, the emotional whimsy of About Time, and the high-concept heartbreak of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind will find resonance here. It is a delicate, singular romance that rewards patience and an open heart.
