## Synopsis

My Mister (2018) is a South Korean television drama created by Park Hae-young and Kim Won-suk for tvN, produced by Studio Dragon. Across sixteen 90-minute episodes in a single season, it follows Park Dong-hoon (Lee Sun-kyun), a weary engineer worn down by work and a troubled family, and Lee Ji-an (IU), a young woman carrying hardship that resists easy explanation. Their story grows from a fragile, unlikely kinship into a patient exploration of comfort found in one another. The engine of the series is ordinary life: jobs that grind people down, family obligations that never loosen, and small acts of kindness that feel almost radical in a world that is less than kind. Supporting performances from Goh Doo-shim, Park Ho-san and Lee Ji-ah widen the frame to the people orbiting these two. Set in contemporary Seoul, the show moves at a measured pace, favoring long quiet scenes and private conversations over plot mechanics. Its tone is melancholic yet tender, carried by a deeply humane sense of empathy. Fans of Reply 1988, Itaewon Class and Hospital Playlist will find resonance in its warmth and its honest portrait of suffering.
