## Synopsis

On My Block (2018-2021) is an American Netflix teen comedy-drama series created by Lauren Iungerich, Eddie Gonzalez and Jeremy Haft. Sierra Capri plays Monsé Finnie, a sharp, resourceful teenager in a rough Los Angeles neighborhood, alongside Jason Genao as Ruben 'Ruby' Martinez, Brett Gray as Jamal Turner, Diego Tinoco as Cesar Diaz and Jessica Marie Garcia as Jasmine Flores. The engine of the show is the friendship of four streetwise kids who have grown up together on one block and now face the upheaval of starting high school, where new classmates, rival crews, romance and money troubles pull them in different directions. Each season is built from a run of self-contained school and neighborhood episodes that carry an ongoing thread about loyalty and growing up. The tone blends witty, cheerful banter with a grounded sense of danger and everyday hardship, so the humor and warmth sit beside real stakes. Set in present-day Los Angeles, the series gives a vivid picture of urban youth culture. Fans of Freaks and Geeks, The Wonder Years and Degrassi: The Next Generation will find resonance in its blend of comedy, adolescence and loyalty.
