## Synopsis

Golden Kamuy (2018-present) is a Japanese seinen animated adventure series created as an anime adaptation of the manga and broadcast on TOKYO MX, with production by Geno Studio and Brain's Base. Veteran Saichi Sugimoto, voiced by Chikahiro Kobayashi, partners with the sharp-eyed Ainu girl Asirpa, voiced by Haruka Shiraishi, to track a fortune in gold stolen from her people. Their hunt is complicated by rival pursuers, including soldiers and escaped convicts, voiced by Yoshimasa Hosoya and Toshihiko Seki among others, who want the same prize. Each episode mixes survival tests in the snowbound Hokkaido wilderness with ambushes, brutal close quarters fights, and gag-driven character moments. The show runs across five seasons and sixty-two episodes so far, one continuing story in which the search and its shifting alliances drive the plot forward. Set in the post-war Meiji era, its frontier look blends history with folklore and Ainu cultural detail. The tone swings between gruesome action and sly humor, with a warm bond between its leads at the center. Fans of Vinland Saga, Hell's Paradise and Blade of the Immortal will find resonance in its blend of historical grit and treasure hunt energy.
