## Synopsis

Legend of Fuyao (2018) is a Chinese xianxia fantasy series created for Zhejiang Television, a single-season costume epic of sixty-six 45-minute episodes. Yang Mi plays Fuyao, a woman born from a divine lotus petal who travels across five continents toward the heavens, searching for a secret order and seeking to expose a conspiracy that originates in the heavens. Along the way she falls in love with the crown prince Zhangsun Wuji, played by Ethan Juan, and their bond is tested by the political maneuvering and deception surrounding them. Supporting roles include Gao Weiguang as Zhan Beiye and Liu Yijun as Qi Zhen. The engine of the story is a long journey in which each stop brings new factions, martial duels, war strategy and hidden allegiances that push Fuyao closer to the truth of her origin. The show is built as an ongoing epic rather than a case-of-the-week format, so its episodes carry the momentum of a single serialized quest. Its tone blends wistful romance with sweeping, grand action and a steady undercurrent of revenge and fate. Set in a mythic fantasy world with the look of ancient Chinese courts and battlefields, it has the sweep of a wuxia spectacle. Fans of The Untamed, Story of Yanxi Palace and The Legend of Qin will find resonance in its blend of heroic adventure, courtly intrigue and destiny-driven romance.
