## Synopsis

Bandits (2014-2015) is a Turkish crime drama series created by Uğraş Güneş for Kanal D, a single-season run of 39 episodes with runtimes around 115 minutes. Kandemir Mercan (Uğur Polat) leads a gang of robbers who take pride in robbing fairly and who remain bound by loyalty. After an old friend is sent to prison, Kandemir and his crew move into a seemingly quiet old Istanbul neighborhood and introduce themselves as the Nevizade family, while hiding their past lives. Principal members include Ferdi and Karlos Nevizade (Kaan Yıldırım and Erkan Kolçak Köstendil), blood brothers who escaped an orphanage, Yaren Nevizade (Şebnem Bozoklu), an aspiring singer performing in taverns, and Bahadır (Caner Özyurtlu), a gifted hacker. Derya (Sevtap Özaltun) joins the scheme with her acting skills to save her father, while Kandemir tries to reconnect with his daughter. The engine of the show is the tension between the gang's crimes and the neighborhood's gradual attachment to them. Each episode mixes heist plotting with domestic comedy and street drama, building a warm, melancholic, sometimes tense atmosphere. Fans of Money Heist, The Sopranos and Turkish crime ensembles will find resonance in its blend of loyalty, crime and found family.
