## Synopsis

Cobra Kai (2018-2025) is an American streaming comedy-drama series created by Josh Heald, Hayden Schlossberg and Jon Hurwitz for Netflix and YouTube Premium. A sequel to the Karate Kid films, it follows washed-up former tournament fighter Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka), who reopens the infamous Cobra Kai dojo in the San Fernando Valley to find redemption. His old nemesis, the successful Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio), now runs a car dealership and struggles to keep his life in balance without his mentor Mr. Miyagi, and their rivalry reignites as the dojo draws in troubled teenagers. Miguel Diaz (Xolo Maridueña), Robby Keene (Tanner Buchanan) and Samantha LaRusso (Mary Mouser) pull the story through school hallways, family conflicts and tournament brackets across six seasons. The engine is a cycle of grudges, mentorship and escalating fights, with each season building toward a new showdown. The tone mixes sharp comic banter, sincere emotional beats and punchy action, with nostalgia threaded throughout. Fans of The Karate Kid, Ted Lasso and Freaks and Geeks will find resonance in its warm, self-aware mix of humor and heart. The show ran six seasons and 65 episodes before concluding its story.
