## Synopsis

Stella Blómkvist (2017-2021) is an Icelandic crime drama series created for Sjónvarp Símans, a two-season run of twelve episodes in total. Heida Reed plays Stella, a young, cunning, libertine lawyer whose flexible moral compass pulls her toward mysterious and often dangerous cases, and she only seems to love rules when she is breaking them. Around her, Sara Dögg Ásgeirsdóttir as Dagbjört, Kristín Þóra Haraldsdóttir as Gunna, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson as Sverrir, and Þorsteinn Guðmundsson as Raggi form the circle of people who help and complicate her investigations. The engine is simple: Stella takes on a client whose case looks clean on paper, then must dig through the shadows of Reykjavik's underworld while her own ethics slip. Each episode is built around a legal problem that opens onto a larger criminal web. The series is a Nordic noir with a sharp, irreverent streak, its tone a mix of cool dread and sardonic wit. Its moody night-time streets and cramped offices give it a gritty, claustrophobic feel. Fans of The Killing and Trapped will find resonance in its cold atmosphere and the tangle of crime and conscience.
