## Synopsis

Enemigo íntimo (2018-2020) is a Mexican telenovela crime drama created by Lina Uribe and Dario Vanegas for Telemundo. Across two seasons and 113 episodes, it follows Alejandro Ferrer, a Federal Police captain who, decades after his parents were murdered by a drug cartel, has built his life around revenge against the narcos who destroyed his family. The story is shaped by the trauma of two siblings who witnessed that killing, including a younger sister who was kidnapped, and the wounds of that night carry into the present. Matías Novoa, Fernanda Castillo, Leonardo Daniel and Alejandro Speitzer anchor a cast spanning cartel and police circles. Each episode pushes the investigation and the personal reckoning forward through long serialized arcs typical of the telenovela form. The tone is intense and melodramatic, grounded in violence, grief and moral compromise. Viewers drawn to Narcos, La Reina del Sur and Griselda will find resonance in its portrait of cartel warfare and the cost of vengeance. The series was canceled, and its story is left unfinished.
