## Synopsis

The Lawyer (2018-2020) is a Swedish-Danish crime thriller series created by David Berron and Geir Henning Hopland for Viaplay, running two seasons across eighteen episodes. Alexander Karim plays Frank Nordling, a brilliant young defense attorney whose life unravels when he learns that the car bomb which killed his parents was ordered by Thomas Waldman (Thomas Bo Larsen), a leading figure in Copenhagen's criminal underworld. Frank's engine is a grim double game: to avenge his parents he must win Waldman's trust and become his personal lawyer and confidant, while keeping up appearances so that his sister Sara (Malin Buska) and others close to him are not endangered. Each episode tightens the pressure with tense courtroom maneuvering, shifting alliances, and the constant risk of exposure, as Frank weighs what revenge is worth. Shaped as a continuing serialized story rather than a case of the week, it carries the cold, brooding atmosphere of a nordic noir crime saga, with a tone that is tense, paranoid and morally uneasy. Viewers who enjoyed Ozark, Better Call Saul and The Bridge will find resonance in its blend of legal intrigue, criminal power and personal vengeance.
