## Synopsis

Cocaine Coast (Fariña) is a Spanish crime drama series that aired on Antena 3 in 2018 and 2019 across a single season of ten roughly seventy-minute episodes. Set in 1980s Galicia, its story follows indebted shipowners whose fishing businesses have collapsed and who turn to contraband as a way out of ruin. Javier Rey plays Sito Miñanco, a figure at the center of the coast's rising trade, while Tristán Ulloa plays Darío Castro and Carlos Blanco plays Laureano Oubiña, each drawn into the expanding network of smuggling. Tamar Novas, Jana Pérez and Celso Bugallo fill out the families and crews whose loyalties are tested as the money grows. Each episode moves through deals struck on docks, boats slipping past patrols, and the uneasy bargains between local families and outside suppliers. The engine of the show is the slow turning of an ordinary coastal economy into a criminal enterprise, with every gain carrying the risk of exposure. The tone is gritty and atmospheric, mixing the damp, wind-swept mood of the Atlantic coast with the tension of a trade that could collapse at any moment. Fans of Narcos, Gomorrah and Peaky Blinders will find resonance in its grounded portrait of crime rising from regional life.
