## Synopsis

Laws of love (2018-2019) is a Mexican telenovela created by Mónica Agudelo Tenorio, Vanesa Varela, José Alberto Castro and Fernando Garcilita for Las Estrellas. Family lawyers Ricardo Bustamante (David Zepeda) and Alejandra Ponce (Ana Brenda Contreras) each carry wounds from past relationships, yet work daily in a legal world where marriages dissolve constantly. Their engine is a stubborn belief that real love can survive, pushed against rival suitors, colleagues, and family opposition that test every hopeful step. Supporting players include Julián Gil as Carlos Ibarra and Altaír Jarabo as Victoria Escalante, whose tangled loyalties add complication. The story unfolds across 182 episodes over two seasons, each episode built from courtroom disputes about custody and divorce woven into the leads' evolving romance. Produced by Televisa, the series carries the warm, melodramatic register of a telenovela, with sincere emotional stakes and soapy reversals. Fans of Yo soy Betty, la fea, Pasión de gavilanes and Ugly Betty will find resonance in its blend of romantic longing, workplace entanglement, and steadfast optimism about love.
