## Synopsis

PERSONA5 the Animation (2018) is a Japanese anime adaptation created by a CloverWorks and Atlus production, a single-season run of 26 episodes of roughly 24 minutes each, broadcast on Gunma TV, TOKYO MX and BS11. Transfer student Ren Amamiya, voiced by Jun Fukuyama, enters his second year at Shujin Academy in Tokyo, and after an awakening his Persona power binds him to a group of friends who become the masked Phantom Thieves of Hearts. Fellow principals include Ryuji Sakamoto voiced by Mamoru Miyano, Ann Takamaki voiced by Nana Mizuki, and Morgana, a talking cat voiced by Ikue Otani. Each episode builds around a new corrupt adult whose distorted desires the crew must infiltrate and steal, while bizarre unexplained crimes spread across the metropolis. The engine is a double life: ordinary school days by daytime, stylish picaresque heists after dark. The tone blends brisk comedy and camaraderie with dark, unsettling undercurrents of guilt and manipulation. Fans of Psycho-Pass, Mob Psycho 100 and the original Persona 5 game will find resonance in its stylish supernatural vigilantism and teen ensemble energy.
