## Synopsis

Mom of Number 10 (La Mamá del 10) (2018) is a Colombian telenovela created for Caracol Televisión, a single-season limited run of sixty episodes. Tina Manotas (Karent Hinestroza), a humble and beautiful woman, is forced out of her hometown after her husband Edwin gets entangled in trouble, and in the big city he abandons her with their two sons. Her engine is a promise: she sacrifices everything so her son Víctor Toro Manotas, nicknamed Goldi (Sergio Herrera), can chase his dream of becoming a professional football player and buy her a palace in the sky. Each episode is built from money shortages, family strain, and the escalating hope that his success will lift them out of poverty. Once the family reaches a comfortable new life in an apartment at the Sky Building, elitist neighbors, including Leonor Manrique (Marcela Benjumea), begin to resent their luxury and turn it into open hostility. The tone is melodramatic, sentimental and emotionally heightened, with a warm, earnest focus on maternal devotion. Set in contemporary urban Colombia, it is a soap in the classic telenovela tradition, the kind of rags to riches story fans of Yo soy Betty, la fea and Pasión de Gavilanes will find familiar.
