## Synopsis

Casados con Hijos (2005-2020) is an Argentine television sitcom created by Ron Leavitt and Michael G. Moye for Telefe, a national-television remake of the American series Married... with Children. Guillermo Francella plays José 'Pepe' Argento, a lazy, scheming father who resents his responsibilities, while Florencia Peña plays his sharp-tongued wife Mónica 'Moni' Potreli de Argento. Their children, Alfio 'Coqui' Argento (Darío Lopilato) and Paola Argento (Luisana Lopilato), and neighbours María Elena Fuseneco (Érica Rivas) and Dardo Fuseneco (Marcelo de Bellis) fill out the household. The engine is simple: Pepe keeps dodging work and money schemes while the family argues, scrambles and wounds one another with barbed jokes. Each episode is a self-contained half hour built around a new scheme or domestic clash rather than a continuing story. Shot in a multi-camera studio style with broad physical gags and quick comic exchanges, the show carries a cheerful, cynical register. Its suburban working-class household sits within the lineage of American sitcoms, so fans of Married... with Children, Everybody Loves Raymond and Roseanne will find resonance in its raucous, irreverent family humour. The series ran three seasons across 216 episodes.
