## Synopsis

Renta Congelada (2017-present) is a Mexican television sitcom created by Pedro Ortiz de Pinedo and produced by Televisa. Two couples, a young newlywed pair and an established older couple, are duped into renting the same house from an elderly owner with Alzheimer's at a ridiculous price, and they must share it for five years. Federico Fernando Gómez Noroña (Rodrigo Murray) and his wife Delia (Patricia Manterola) lead the mature household, while Nico Ramos (José Eduardo Derbez) and Sam (Adriana Montes de Oca) represent the younger generation. The engine of each episode is petty sabotage: each couple tries to make the other miserable enough to leave, turning shared refrigerators, dining tables and bathroom schedules into battlegrounds. Walking around in underwear and leaving socks on the stairs become daily flashpoints. The show runs as a multi-season, case-of-the-week style comedy with a standing premise rather than a single story arc, spanning five seasons and around sixty episodes of 22 minutes each. Its tone is breezy, cozy and sardonic, with a light, affectionate warmth beneath the bickering. Fans of Two and a Half Men, Mad About You and Vecinos will find resonance in its domestic friction and marital comedy.
