## Synopsis

Nox (2018) is a French crime thriller miniseries created by Mabrouk El Mechri for Canal+. Across six episodes of roughly fifty-five minutes each, a retired police officer, Julie Susini (Maïwenn), refuses to accept that her daughter has vanished while pursuing a mission beneath the city. Her quest pulls her into the subterranean Paris of catacombs, abandoned tunnels, and forgotten passageways, where every lead threatens to pull her further from the surface world and from the colleagues who once trusted her. Investigators Garraud (Frédéric Pierrot) and Emma Delage (Valérie Donzelli) are among the people tangled in the search, and Catherine Susini (Nathalie Baye) and Raphaël Berger (Malik Zidi) add family and personal stakes to the hunt. Each episode is built from concrete steps: a clue traced underground, a confrontation in a dank passage, a betrayal that reframes the chase. The series is a single continuous story rather than a case of the week. Its tone is claustrophobic and obsessive, with a restless, dread-tinged atmosphere that rewards patient attention. Fans of Spiral and True Detective will find resonance in its grounded police procedural mood and its brooding, city-beneath-the-city imagery.
