## Synopsis

Constantine: City of Demons (2018) is an American adult animated dark fantasy miniseries created for the CW Seed streaming platform, a five-episode run of brief animated installments built around the DC Animated Movie Universe. Armed with arcane knowledge of the dark arts and a wicked wit, John Constantine, voiced by Matt Ryan, is a magician whose soul is already damned to hell. He takes on supernatural threats that endanger ordinary people, banishing demons and possessing spirits back to where they belong. Chas Chandler, voiced by Damian O'Hare, is his loyal companion who keeps him grounded. Each episode is a compact, self-contained case in which the occult threat is confronted and dispatched, so the show moves briskly and plays as a fast occult procedural. Its tone blends gritty horror with sardonic humor and a neo-noir atmosphere of rain-slicked city streets and shadowy rituals. Underneath the bloodshed runs a wistful thread about whether a cynical sinner can still earn redemption. Fans of Constantine, Supernatural and Hellboy will find the same mix of occult menace and wry, damaged heroism here.
