## Synopsis

NSU German History X (2016) is a German three-part true crime miniseries created for Das Erste, a television drama dramatizing real events. Following German reunification, the story follows the neo-Nazi National Socialist Underground cell, with Anna Maria Mühe as Beate Zschäpe, Albrecht Schuch as Uwe Mundlos and Sebastian Urzendowsky as Uwe Böhnhardt. The engine of the series is a grinding investigation: detectives struggle against institutional prejudice and a tangle of leads while the cell moves through a series of attacks across the country. Each episode of this limited series is built from long scenes of domestic routine that sit uneasily beside brutal crimes, creating a tense and sober atmosphere. Its tone is somber, harrowing and deliberate, with a focus on how ordinary life and official blindness allowed violence to continue. Told across three feature length episodes, it is a restrained, grounded drama that will appeal to viewers who enjoy true crime and dramatized history. Fans of The Night Of, When They See Us and Hotel Mumbai will find resonance in its grounded, unflinching approach to real violence and its consequences.
