## Synopsis

Steins;Gate 0 (2018) is a Japanese anime science fiction series produced by White Fox and Nitroplus, broadcast on TOKYO MX and adapted from a visual novel. Rintaro Okabe (voiced by Mamoru Miyano) is a self-styled mad scientist who sinks into depression after failing to save Kurisu Makise (voiced by Asami Imai), and a neuroscientist offers him the chance to interact with an AI copy of her. Around him, Mayuri Shiina (Kana Hanazawa) and Itaru Hashida (Tomokazu Seki) keep him tethered to his friends, while Suzuha Amane (Yukari Tamura) pushes toward a dangerous future. The engine of the series is Rintaro's refusal to accept a loss, weighed against the costs that every attempt to rewrite events leaves behind. Each episode turns on experiments, clandestine meetings and small shifts in the timeline that feel increasingly consequential over the run. Told in a single season of 23 episodes, the story is serialized and rewards close attention. The tone is eccentric and melancholic, with comedic bravado giving way to quiet grief and a sustained sense of dread. Fans of Steins;Gate, Dark and Erased will find resonance in its time travel mechanics and emotional stakes.
