## Synopsis

Mehmed: The Conqueror (2018) is a Turkish historical drama series created by Cevdet Mercan for Kanal D. Kenan İmirzalıoğlu plays Sultan Mehmed, the Ottoman ruler whose ambitions turn toward taking Constantinople, while Çetin Tekindor plays the seasoned grand vizier Çandarlı Halil Paşa, whose counsel and rivalries shape the court. Gürkan Uygun appears as Delibaş, and Büşra Develi plays Eleni, a figure drawn from the Byzantine side of the story. The engine of the series is the tension between a young ruler's personal drive and the factional politics of his palace, with each episode built from councils, diplomatic maneuvering and the preparations for war. Told across a single six-episode season of roughly two-hour installments, it moves like an epic limited series rather than a case-of-the-week format. The fifteenth century Ottoman world is rendered in lavish period detail, with the mood sweeping, sober and grand in equal measure. Its tone combines courtly restraint with martial intensity. Fans of Muhteşem Yüzyıl, The Last Emperor and Game of Thrones will find resonance in its blend of palace intrigue and military spectacle.
