## Synopsis

Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online (2018-2024) is a Japanese animated science fiction series created by Reki Kawahara's franchise and produced by Studio 3Hz and A-1 Pictures, a spin-off of the Sword Art Online anime. College student Karen, who plays under the name Llenn, takes up the virtual shooter Gun Gale Online and gains a fearsome reputation as the Pink Demon. Her gaming buddy Pitohui (voiced by Yoko Hikasa) pulls her into the Squad Jam, a team tournament where players fight with guns across a digital battlefield. Tomori Kusunoki voices Karen, and Kazuyuki Okitsu voices the enigmatic M. The engine of the show is the tension between camaraderie and competition, as friends face each other in tournament matches where virtual death carries emotional weight. Each season follows a sequence of battles and character moments built around the squad's preparation and rivalries, across two seasons totaling twenty-four episodes. The tone blends brisk action with contemplative moments about trauma and loyalty. Fans of Sword Art Online, Accel World and Btooom! will find resonance in its mix of virtual combat and personal bonds.
