## Synopsis

The Chalet (2018) is a French miniseries created by Alexis Lecaye and Camille Bordes-Resnais for France 2. Across six 52-minute episodes, a group of old friends gathers at a remote chalet in the French Alps for a summer getaway, only to find themselves caught in a deadly trap as a dark secret from their shared past comes to light. Mia Delmae plays Françoise Rodier, Emilie de Preissac plays Adèle, and Nicolas Gob plays Sébastien Genesta, with Mathieu Simonet as Fabio Romani rounding out the core circle. The engine of the story is suspicion within a closed circle: each character has something to hide, and every reveal reshapes who can be trusted while the isolation of the mountains cuts off any escape. Told as a single continuing story, the miniseries moves in brisk, tense installments that lean on flashback to connect present danger with old wounds. The tone is claustrophobic and unsettling, with slasher-style menace layered over themes of childhood trauma, friendship, betrayal and revenge. Fans of And Then There Were None and Riverdale will find resonance in its blend of whodunit mystery and personal reckoning, set in a snowbound French landscape where the past refuses to stay buried.
