## Synopsis

Porus (2017-2018) is an Indian national-television historical epic series created by Siddharth Kumar Tewary for Sony Entertainment Television. Centered on the warrior king Purushottam, known as Porus (Lakshya), the story follows his rise as a ruler facing the invasion of Alexander the Great (Rohit Purohit). Around them move King Bamni (Aditya Redij), Laachi (Suhani Dhanki) and Prince Hasti (Mohit Abrol), whose loyalties, rivalries and courtly maneuvering shape each stretch of the campaign. The engine of the series is a king's duty to defend his realm against a conqueror, carried out through councils, alliances, skirmishes and larger set-piece battles. Across four seasons and roughly 247 episodes, it unfolds as one continuing serialized saga rather than standalone stories. Set in ancient India during the age of Macedonian expansion, it balances grand martial spectacle with palace intrigue. The tone is earnest, heroic and proud, with moments of sorrow and loyalty. Fans of Chandragupta Maurya, Jodha Akbar and Alexander: The Great will find resonance in its blend of royal drama and battlefield epic.
