## Synopsis

Wotakoi: Love Is Hard for Otaku (2018) is a Japanese animated romantic comedy series produced by A-1 Pictures and aired on Fuji TV, a single-season run of eleven roughly twenty-three-minute episodes. Office lady Narumi Momose, who hides her yaoi fangirl passion from her coworkers, reconnects after a job change with her childhood friend Hirotaka Nifuji, a skilled and attractive man who is a hardcore gaming otaku. Voiced by Arisa Date and Kent Ito, the pair agree to date casually, but both are socially awkward and find that a serious romance is far harder than any quest in their favorite games. Supporting principals Hanako Koyanagi (Miyuki Sawashiro) and Tarou Kabakura (Tomokazu Sugita) add friendship, rivalry and workplace chatter that keep the episodes light. Each episode is a loose slice of life built from everyday dates, shared hobbies, and small embarrassments in modern Tokyo offices. The mood is warm, breezy and gently funny, with a comforting, sincere heart. Fans of Kaguya-sama: Love Is War and Recovery of an MMO Junkie will find similar awkward romance and hobby-centered charm here.
