## Synopsis

Druck (2018-2022) is a German teen drama series created by Julie Andem for funk. Following a group of friends through their teenage years in contemporary Berlin, the show takes its emotional engine from everyday dilemmas of friendship, first love and the search for a personal identity. Tua El-Fawwal plays Amira Mahmood and Lilly Dreesen plays Hanna Jung, two of the friends whose lives interlock across the run, while Michelangelo Fortuzzi, Anselm Bresgott and Milena Tscharntke play other members of the circle. Each season spotlights a different character, so the eight seasons of ten episodes each unfold as a shifting ensemble rather than a single plot. Episodes are short and brisk, built from school pressure, crushes, family friction and the small crises that define adolescence. The tone is warm, sincere and wistful, with a grounded, unpretentious look at modern city life. Its open and affectionate treatment of queer romance gives it a distinctive place in youth drama. Fans of Skins, Heartstopper and Elite will find resonance in its candid portrait of teenage belonging.
