## Synopsis

Hermanos y detectives (2006) is an Argentine crime comedy miniseries created by Patricio Vega and Damián Szifron and broadcast on Telefe. Administrative police officer Franco Montero (Rodrigo de la Serna) suddenly inherits guardianship of a half-brother he never knew, Lorenzo Montero (Rodrigo Noya), an eleven-year-old prodigy with an IQ of 200. Franco's life and work change overnight as Lorenzo's intelligence lands the pair, along with Franco's assistant Gustavo Mansilla (Oscar Guzmán), in charge of the homicide division. The engine of the ten-episode run is the trio's habit of deducing their way through striking cases, with each hour built around a fresh murder that the boy's sharp reasoning reframes. Franco's clumsy attempts at parenting sit alongside the squad's bureaucratic friction and Buenos Aires street texture, giving the show a light, witty, deadpan register. Because it runs as a single self-contained season rather than an open-ended saga, it plays as a tight, self-contained case-of-the-week package. Fans of Monk, Sherlock and Bones will find resonance in its quirky detective pairing and clever puzzle-solving.
