## Synopsis

Secret Agent Selection: WW2 (2018) is a British documentary history miniseries broadcast on BBC Two and produced by BBC and Wall to Wall. Across five episodes of roughly 44 minutes each, the series resurrects the training programme of the Special Operations Executive, the covert British organisation that trained agents to operate behind enemy lines during the Second World War. Narration by Douglas Henshall guides viewers through the immersive recreation, in which modern volunteers are subjected to the methods, pressures and secrecy of wartime clandestine work. The engine of the show is the question of whether ordinary people can endure conditions designed to test nerve, discipline and deception. Each episode builds through physical and psychological tasks that mirror historical training, so the emotional register is tense, serious and reflective, with moments of hardship and camaraderie. Set in wartime Britain and its training grounds, the series sits within the tradition of British factual history programming and immersive reconstruction. Fans of The Real Dirty Dozen and Wartime Farm will find resonance in its blend of historical reconstruction and participant-driven endurance.
