## Synopsis

Último a Sair (2011) is a Portuguese comedy and social satire series created by Bruno Nogueira, Frederico Pombares and João Quadros for RTP1. Set in a contemporary Portugal that mirrors its own television culture, the series parodies reality shows by placing a group of celebrities from different artistic fields inside a house where everything looks authentic but is staged. Bruno Nogueira, Roberto Leal, Luciana Abreu and Rui Unas appear as versions of themselves, and the comedy grows from the gap between the performed intimacy of the house and the constructed rules that govern it. Each of the 37 episodes, running about ninety minutes, is built from absurd challenges, awkward confessions and escalating social tensions that expose how fame and spectacle shape ordinary behavior. The engine is the pressure of the simulated environment itself: contestants chase status and survival while the audience watches the artifice unravel. The tone is deadpan and irreverent, sharp about media vanity and national celebrity culture, with a mockumentary-like composure that keeps the satire dry. Its single complete season is a self-contained, one-off experiment rather than a continuing drama. Fans of The Office, Nathan for You and the Ricky Gervais Show will find resonance in its sly, cringe-tinged mockery of reality television and its exposure of the performances behind it.
