## Synopsis

Innocent (2018-2021) is a British crime drama series created by Matthew Arlidge and Chris Lang for ITV1. Lee Ingleby plays David Collins, a man acquitted of murdering his wife after seven years in prison, who must rebuild a shattered life while detectives continue to search for the real killer. Daniel Ryan plays his brother Phil Collins, and Hermione Norris and Adrian Rawlins play Alice and Rob Moffatt, whose lives are tangled in the case, while Angel Coulby plays DI Cathy Hudson. The engine of the story is David's struggle against public suspicion and the damage a legal victory cannot undo, as each episode pushes him toward new confrontations with the people who doubt him. The series runs across two seasons of four episodes each, forming a compact, serialized mystery rather than a case-of-the-week format. Set in contemporary Britain, it unfolds in ordinary towns and homes where old wounds resurface. Its tone is tense, melancholic and grounded, with a steady undercurrent of paranoia and grief. Fans of Broadchurch, The Fall and The Night Of will find resonance in its patient, character-driven unravelling of a crime and its aftermath.
