## Synopsis

Another Life (2019-2021) is an American science fiction drama series created by Aaron Martin for Netflix. After a massive alien artifact lands on Earth, Katee Sackhoff plays Niko Breckinridge, who leads an interstellar mission to track the artifact back to its source and make first contact. Justin Chatwin plays Erik Wallace, a crew member whose loyalties and personal conflicts drive much of the friction aboard the ship, while Samuel Anderson plays William, an AI whose presence adds a distinctive and interesting voice to the crew. Across two seasons of ten episodes each, the series follows the crew's missions, interpersonal tensions, and the strain of long voyages through unfamiliar space. Its engine is the tension between the mission's goals and the characters' personal stakes, rather than spectacle alone. Set in a near future of space travel, the series has a serious, contemplative register, with an emphasis on relationships, trust, and moral choices. Fans of The Expanse and Battlestar Galactica will find a similar appetite for crew dynamics and grounded space drama. The series was canceled, leaving its central story unfinished.
